“Russo is the owner and mastermind of Squares and Fare, the Jersey Shore’s #2-rated pizzeria this summer. Originally getting its start as an underground popup, Squares and Fare has since garnered rave reviews, offering a variety of pizzas with fresh ingredient from Italy and local gardens.”

“Got the half-and-half classic and vodka sauce, both incredible, with robust toppings (I want a quart of that vodka sauce for rigs at home) over long-fermented dough with pronounced flavor, cracking charred edges and structure as airy and bubbly as Prosecco.”

“Dominic Russo started selling pizza from his house in 2019, the business :
"soon took over our lives," so he opened a storefront in a former laundromat last November.
It's easy enough to find, right across the street from Charlie's bar. He makes "Sicilian style" square pies, and the two I tried bolted Squares & Fare nearly to the top of this list. Saucy to the max, the traditional square pie is fat, fluffy and near-fantastic.
The modern pepperoni square pie will make converts of all those pepperoni haters out there. Gee, who could they be?”

What’s up with this underground pizza ring in Egg Harbor Township
This man (who shall remain anonymous) makes square-shaped pizza, not quite Sicilian-style, but almost.
Its crust is made from cheese, at least the margarita pie I tasted, and is equally crispy as it is doughy. In a word, I was TAKEN the minute it hit my lips. I was like, "Oh, I get it." Squares & Fare is like the new Chef Vola.
I guess my friend knew a friend who knew a friend who told HER about Squares & Fare. It's one of those things where they release a bunch of dates on social media for when they plan to offer the pizza. Then, customers reserve their time and place their orders. It does all feel very exclusive. Because once the time slots are filled, that's it. You have to wait till the NEXT month. But take my word for it, it would be worth the wait. The chocolate chip cookies my friend ordered were the size of my head. They were chewy and savory, dusted with Italian sea salt.
